Chun Joo is a second-year medical student at Monash University dedicated to the integration of artificial intelligence into clinical practice. He serves as a lead for the Medical AI Research Collaboration (MARC) program in Cao lab, where he facilitates partnerships between technical teams, clinicians, and hospitals to identify and solve unmet clinical needs through innovative technology.
His work focuses on building practical AI solutions for healthcare workflows, involving collaborations with major healthcare organisations like Alfred Health and Monash Health. Notable projects include developing a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system for hospital guidelines and automating clinical registry data entry.
Beyond research, Chun Joo is committed to disseminating technical skills. In June 2025, he served as an instructor for ITP, an introductory course focused on Python and "vibe coding," teaching medical students how to leverage modern AI tools for efficient software development.
